Benefits of Service

Store To Door

Besides providing direct service, Store to Door volunteers interact personally with clients. The agency is in the unique position of having weekly phone contact and visits to the homes of people who often live isolated lives. Multnomah County Aging and Disability Services has enlisted Store to Door in their Gatekeeper program to serve as a resource in identifying frail elderly who might be at risk and in need of additional social services. Store to Door provides support for families and friends of our clients. As the elderly continue ...

to be the fastest growing segment of our population, family members are often torn between their responsibility to an aging parent, their work, their children, and their own needs. Store to Door is able to relieve these caregivers of at least one time-consuming chore. Relatives who live far from Portland feel more assured knowing that our volunteers are seeing their loved one regularly.

We are cost effective

Store To Door

Delivery fees are 10% of the total grocery bill, excluding any prescription medications. We depend on community support through corporate and foundation grants and contributions of individuals to supplement the actual costs of providing the service.
